Altermij-De Gouwe is a renowned tank constructor and builds stainless steel tanks according to the design code of good workmanship, but we still see the demand for verifiable design codes grow.

Altermij-De Gouwe manages de most customary (European) codes for both atmospheric tanks and pressure tanks. The consequences for the design and use of the installation largely depend on the pressure, the volume, the medium, etc.

Altermij-De Gouwe is fully informed about the PED-regulations and takes these regulations into account when giving clients advise.

Design codes:

  • EN14015: design code that focuses on larger atmospheric storage tanks with a flat bottom.
  • EN13445: design code that focuses on tanks with an internal pressure of >0.5 bar (g).
  • TenneT: good workmanship. This is a clear term for a renowned tank constructor such as Altermij-De Gouwe. We often use the calculations for wall thickness from the EN13445 or the EN14015 as a basis. This allows us to build a sanitary tank for food (or other applications). The tank is high quality, solid and very interesting from a price-technical point of view. Different suppliers give different definitions to good workmanship. This is recognizable by the conical bottoms that have been welded directly to the trunk and have a minimal wall thickness (<3 mm).
  • KIWA: our company has been in possession of the KIWA product certificate K88565/01 since December 2015. KIWA attests with this certificate that we have a warranted trust that Altermij-De Gouwe produces single and double panelled vertical cylindrical steel storage tanks to 150 m³ complying with the KIWA BRL-K756/02 quality requirements.
  • PED: the PED is not a design code, but a European regulation for tanks and piping systems that use a design pressure higher than 0.5 bar (g). The consequences for the design and use of the installation largely depend on the pressure, the volume, the medium, etc. Altermij-De Gouwe is fully informed about the PED-regulations and takes these regulations into account when giving clients advise.
